(Critter Critter)
Syphirs
Syphirs are thin snake-like creatures. Their scales are more rather prickly spines, and around their neck they have a rather feathery “mane” of lighter less bristly scales. They range in size from the length of a hand to the length of an arm. They have bad eyesight, but extremely good memory. Syphirs are rather protective of the ones they are bonded to and will die if their bonded dies.
Colors-
Gold- The largest Syphir, equivalent of a gold dragon. Do not range in colors. Female. Lay around 10 eggs per clutch.
Black- Second largest. Equivalent of a bronze. Do not range in color. Male.
Copper- Equal in size to the Black, equivalent of a brown. Range in color from a light toffee to a dark fudge color. Male.
Grey- Second smallest. Equal to a green or blue dragon. Range from a light grey to almost black. Can be male or female. Females lay around 5 eggs a clutch.
White- Smallest. Equal to a white dragon. Always white. Male or Female. Females lay 3 or fewer eggs per clutch.
Communication- Syphirs communicate through a rhythm of clicking. It also can use pictures to converse with its bonded.
Mating- Syphirs all get rather testy when another is about to mate. They start to disappear for days on end. Their manes get excessively spiky. Not much is known about what happens while they are gone.
Impression- Though not much is known about when Syphirs mate, it is known that it is rather easy to Impress. Upon hatching Syphirs are rather dazed. It is easy to simply walk out into the rocks where they have hatched and pick up a hatchling. After an hour or so the hatchling will get its wits straight. If you have kept close for some time you will be able to feed it. If you haven’t you might come back to an empty sack where the hatchling had been. From the moment the hatchling awakes the Impression is very much like Impressing a firelizard.
