Ruvna leaned on Finnath, her feet burried in the sand. She sighed, glad to be away at last from the busy Weyr. She smiled, plicking up a handful of sand and letting it run through her fingers. It is nice here. Calm, too. 'Yes, it is. Quite a change from the usual hustle and bustle up in the Weyr, eh?' Indeed, and all for the better. She laughed and scrached Finnath's ear nobs.

Indeed, Weyr life could become taxing at times. A nice bit of relaxing at the beach never hurt anyone, especially considering that a certain large bronze loved splashing around in the salty water. The thunderous clap of pinions overhead and a gust of wind later found both rider and dragon alighted upon the glittering sands. Dropping to the sand, K'roi pulled off his tough Wher hide boots, opting for the rather more pleasant feel of sand on his feet. ~Looks like we have some delightful company~ Gareth sent to his rider, giving a low bugle of greeting to the other riding pair who seemed to fancy the same thing as them, before trotting on wire taunt feline-like paws to the gentle lapping waves, slithering in like a natural born water lizard. Shaking his head at the antics of his beloved bronze, K'roi stood again, grabbing his boots, and walked at a sedated pace to the fellow rider and dragon.

She looked up as the chittering of her fair grew louder. She turned and stood up hastily, trying to brush the sand from her tunic and riding pants. Why in a rush? asked Finnath, who stood an bugled a hello to Gareth. 'You wouldn't know.' She remarked back, as the lizards perched themselves on the back of Finnath. 'Shells.' She muttered, looking for her boots. 'I know they are around here...'

Spouting water, Gareth dove, bronze hide flashing in the sunlight. The spray was carried on the air towards the beach, giving the already salty air a heavier scent. Bright smile on his face, K'roi came to a halt a couple of feet from them. "Greetings Jr. Weyrwoman Ruvna" He said, giving a polite half bow in both greeting and respect. "Greetings Silver Finnath" He then addressed the bright silver. "I didn't realize that we would be in such good company here when I first suggested coming here." He said candidly. ~If you remember, I suggested coming here. Stop fauning on her before you trip.~ Gareth's playful thought came, colored with muted blues. K'roi gave him a mental flick, getting a reply full of laughter and bright colors.

She jumped at being addressed. 'Oh! Greetings K'roi. And you you, Gareth. Do sit down, won't you?' she smiled siting back down on the sand, watching as Finnath went to join Gareth. NOW I know. Ruvna rolled her eyes at Finnath's comment, ||Do you now?||. Yes, and don't try and excape from the fact now, ok? ||Do I have a chance to?|| No.

" Don't mind if I do." The young rider said, plopping down with no amount of grace onto the sands a few feet from her. His unusual eyes were directed to where both dragon's played in the surf. "They really do enjoy that, don't they?" He asked off handedly, merely by way of making pleasant conversation. "Gareth always wants to come here when we have some free time. He says the shipfish like playing with him." The young rider grinned over at her.

'Yes, I suppose they do. Finnath always wants to come down here away from the canidates. She says they bother her, talking loudly about which dragon they were going to Inpress.' She shook her head. 'Most of the time they get what they don't expect. The odds for me..they said I wouln't Inpress, and look where I am now!' She smile shyly, remebering the look of suprise on the faces of those that taunted her, the tallest, oddest looking canidate on the sands.

He nodded in agreement. "Everyone wants a gold, silver, or bronze, and they don't seem to realize that if they are worthy for a dragon at all they're lucky." He seemed to talk from past experience, and indeed, went on to elaborate a bit. "I had to go through three failed impressions before I found Gareth...or perhaps it would be better to say that he found me." He gave a half sigh, then leaned back in total relaxation, the smile back on his face as he rested on his elbows. He felt a warm nudge at his mind, and was filled with gladness all over again. He was never totaly alone in his own mind now, even when Gareth slept. He didn't think he could go back, even if he'd wanted to. It gave a startling and clear truth to the stories told where one of a pair of weyrmates died, and the other soon followed.

'I was lucky in that sence that it was on the first one that Finnath found me. Not before she almost attacked three s for crouding around her.' She smiled as she remembered that feeling of warmth that she first felt that way, and was always there. 'I don't think I could survive if Finnath died.' She shuttered at the thought. I have no plains for dieing. thought Finnath as she climbed onto the sands and settled down for a nap. That was a nice bath Ruvna couldn't help it, she laughed at the comment Finnath made. Only a dragon coul jump from one subject to a completely diffrent one.

K'roi had to smile as she laughed, figuring that it was something that Finnath had said. Gareth followed the silver's actions, coming to a stop half a dragon length from them. Snapping wide his wings with a splatter of salty water over the two riders, he then kept them open to sun dry and absorb the heat, settling down his bulk onto the prickly sand. Water dripping off his hair, K'roi shot a half hearted glare at the bronze. "Come on, Gareth. Did you really have to do that?" He asked. ~Have you had fun getting aquainted?~ The Bronze asked instead of a real reply, mirth rolling off every thought.

She laughed, bushing her now wet black hair from her eyes. Now you have two reasons to stay, a napping dragon and your wet. Nice, aren't we? 'Your up to something, Finnath, I know you are.' She smiled and lay on the sand. 'Finnath's right, we have to stay here to dry or else Ichi will have a fit.' That's nice, now if you don't mind, I'm really going to have a nap. And with that, the Silver Dragon closed her eyes and dosesed off. 'I, for one, am glad the Hatching is over, no more whining about which dragon they will get, at least until Finnath rises.' She smiled as a snore floated through her mind from Finnath.

With a half sigh, K'roi nodded. Unfortunatly, he was getting rather hot. The only downfall to wearing dark clothes in the south was the way it attracted the heat like a magnet. So, in due accord, he slipped out of the leather riding jacket, feeling a great deal better as his thinner undershirt fluttered in the breeze. Laying the jacket beside him to dry, he joined Ruvna in laying back fully on the soft sand. "Yeah... you would think that any youth taken from the smaller holds would be happy merely coming to Silver Cove. I know I was..." Gareth contented himself with the sunning, dozing a bit but never really going deep enough to sleep, for his wings would fall lax, and therefor get covered in sand.

'Yes, same here. I was promised to some fat old man...' She shuddered at the thought. It was better this way, for at least she had Finnath, but she still have no choice on who her weyrmate would be. 'I'd to think were I would be now. I'm so glad I was Serched now.' She smiled and closed her eyes against the glare of the sun.

K'roi had to chuckle. "Even I would be glad to be away from that kind of situation." He joked, pillowing his head on his upstretched arms, fiery red hair falling in disarray to the sand. "I would have inherited my father's job as Head herd's man. At the time I was all for it, but now I think I would have been a bit bored managing the care of that small herd of beasts." ~My dear boy, you would be bored hunting a pack of longtooth cats.~ Came the sarcastic yet warm thought that was just a bit muffled.

'A bit bored? I would have ran away if that was my fate. But if I didn't know that there was something else out there for me. Besides, what would happen to our dear dragons? I would have d for Finnath to die....' She frowned. 'Oh dear!' She jumped up and hurried over to Finnath, 'Wake up, dear heat, please!' She shot a glance to K'roi. 'I must go, I am so sorry. Do find me again so we can talk!.' She threw him such a sorrowfilled look as she looked around for everything she might have left. ((Must go soon...))
