(Gah, I know, I'm so horrible! x_x; Sorreh.)
Felle shrugged. He didn't mind so much playinging. His hands might hurt a little, but he could survive. But, he sighed mentally, if she insisted. He grabbed up the quill scrawling in his neat, curly, harper writing. 'I will take a break. Thank you, Weyrsinger Neou. Yes, when I return from feeding Fiedka I shall play a calmer song, if you still wish that.' He gave Neou a sheepish smile, setting down his gitar.

"I may not wish that, but others do. Oh wait, I do wish that! If another was willing to give up his time to play at least once here, I would dance with you, but it seems it will be only us tonight. The only other one I have seen who can play is frightfully shy, and most likely not willing." Watching the figure of K'roi out of the corner of her eye, Neou sighed once. If it was not meant to be so, it was not meant to be so. But she wished for it to be so, more then anything else. For it it was not, then what was there to say save she would be very depressed indeed? That would be hard, considering her creatures would not wish for her to be so, but Neou could contrive and managed to do that. She always had. Again a past conversation crept into her mind. "Must you always be so negative Neou? There will always be another willing to love you for who you are, another after him. His death was tragic, we all know that, but others die too. We all mourn, but not for much more then two sevendays. It must stop now. You were not espoused, were you? You are young, but not too young to be so. And we all know that you let hardly anyone get close to you. It is hard to tell." Neou had blushed at that point, but had said in reply, "My mourning will continue for how long I wish it to be. And no, we were not espoused. Lemel was very loyal to the Masterharper. He would never do so."

Ruvna caught Neou staring at K'roi and shook her head discreatly. She felt. not sorry, but rather, empithetic with they young gold rider. But it would be three years before the gold Queen could rise, a long time to wait, as she well knew. She would enjoy as many dances with her weyrmate as she could, but she had a feeling that Neou was having fun taunting them, though she was playing a slow song. Figured that the first dance that she and K'roi was a fast one, but she must admit, it was quite fun.
R'yion walked slowly to the Harpers. Stopping befroe them, he asked: "Perhaps I could take your place. You seem eager to to get out there." He smiled and pulled out some pipes. "I'm not trained, but I can at least keep time, tune, and play resonably well." He started to play a haunting harmony to the gutair that Neou was playing. It sounded grand, well, not as well as Neou, but the harmony that he was playing seemed to fit the song, and Neou's melody hid most of his few mistakes. Stopping he smiled at her. "The name is R'yion, oh moon of my delight. Go, have fun, dance your heart out." He smiled and started to play again, his green eyes twinkling as she saw Ruvna dancing. It looked like his coz was having a fun time.

Neou snorted once. His mistakes were obvious, and she did not take well to being called "moon of my delight." (Have you read a book called Castle in the Clouds? That phrase is said so many times there) Again, Neou did not take well to flirting, or anything of that sort. "If I left you here, people would stop dancing, covering their ears in horror. I am not that stupid." She looked once at the rider, shaking her head again. "But my hands need a short rest. It will be your head they will want, just to warn you." Grin of pure insolence, Neou stepped down with relative grace, watching the swirling mass of bodies. The Feast was winding down, or so it seemed. That was all well and good, for everyone would soon get much, much too tired. Is that not the way a feast is meant to go though? Carefully Neou made her way through the crowds, finding the wine tables. Both Weyrlings and Journeymen were not supposed to dabble much in the drink, but Neou had her little splurges. Everyone did, and Neou could take the drink well. She knew that it did not bode well with others, mostly Ruvna, that she watched K'roi so carefully, but he reminded her so strongly of Lemel, so strongly of her one kindred spirit, the one lover who meant something in the long run to her. In the end, Elenath would rise, and all bronze dragons would be required to give chase, lest it was a closed Flight. But that was three Turns away, and Neou had other thoughts now. Thoughts that would be better for the health of her dragon.

Siera watched the others. K'lin looked around for someone to dance with.

Felle nodded to R'yion then sauntered toward the food tables. Fiedka was flapping his transparent wings happily, knowing there was food to be eaten. Felle laughed at the crystal's antics. Picking up a meat roll he offered it to his firelizard, who took it without a thought. He then picked up a red fruit for himself, taking a bite.
After Fiedka had eaten what Felle thought might be his weight in meat, he was satisfied. Felle had managed to sip a small glass of wine without Fiedka attepting to knock it from his hands with a scolding screech. Wits intact he looked over to see Neou.

Rather ignorant of the somewhat closed situation going on, K'roi was delightfuly happy dancing with his weyrmate. For certes, he would have felt bad, or in the least, uncomfortable with said accomidations otherwise. The new harper came up, and the mellody changed, smoothing out to a single pair of pipes that was slightly inexperienced, if still skilled. Out of the corner of his eye, he again saw A'den, and gave a mental sigh. ~Gareth, would you be a pal and please inform Menuath of his rider's unsocial habits?~ The bronzerider asked, and then let it go. If anyone would be able to move the lad, it would be his bonded. ~Menuath says that he will try and get his bonded to socialize.~ Gareth sent after a moment's pause. ~Good on ya, Gareth.~ K'roi sent, and a smile moved across his face.
~A'denmine, why are you sitting in the corner?~ Menuath's awake voice suddenly came to A'den. ~You need to go and make friends.~ The little bronze was all concerned for his bonded, to say the least. The lad's distress had started to leak through to the little hatchling's dreams. "You know how I feel..." The boy said aloud, and if it was heard, it went by unnoticed, for weyrlings sometimes did not yet know the concept of mind-to-mind communication. ~Go and make music for them, and then they will like you.~ About to give his reasons for not playing, he got a very heartening burst of color from the little bronze, and with resignation, finally agreed to play. He trudged out of the feast hall, heading for his compartments and the lyre he owned.

"Indeed, of jewel of mine eyes." He waved her of and started to play, though not as skilled as it could have been, neverless pleasent. After this, well, he would just walk around, finding others to chat with. (Nope. And he isn't flirting, that's just the way he is).

It was an all together short time before the young bronzerider returned to the hall with the small stringed instrument in hand. The festivities would be winding down before too long, so the fleeting thought of hope that few people would still be paying attention passed across his mind. ~Play!~ Menuath again urged, and it was as if a hand helped to guide A'den to where the other single player worked the pipes. Bowing his head a bit, A'den walked up, and presented the lyre out as if it were his voice, asking to be allowed to play along with the piper.

R'yion nodded to the other bronzerider and still contiuned to play. He was getting better, though still not as good as Neou. Ah well, such was life.
Ruvna glanced at K'roi. "Hmm...perhaps after this dance we shall snag some wine. I hear we got it from Benden this year."

"Benden, really? That certainly is something to indulge in." The bronzerider said in agreement.
A'den mumbled a thanks, and moved up to sit stiffly next to the other player. His instrument was already tuned, as it always was to the best of his abilities, and he began tp pick out a melody to accompany that of the other player's. It was halting at first, as he adjusted to the feeling of playing before people, even if they weren't paying attention, but then as he relaxed, the music began to flow more freely from the little stringed instrument, the tones and notes almost plucking themselves.

After awhile, R'yion finshed the song and beamed at everyone. Oh yes, the feast was ending, but soon another would come.
Ruvna disapered from K'roi, though soon returned with a full wineskin. "Took me three marks, but I think it shall be worth every one of them, eh?" She remarked to K'roi, grinning widely. "Nothing better than Benden wine."

"Three marks is fine, but do tell me if you plan to get more, because it would only be fair if I buy the next round." K'roi said, returning her grin with his own.
A'den found that, much to his surprise, after the song was finished, he felt rather like he'd accomplished something. It felt good, to say the least, and he was bolstered by the fact that he'd managed to keep with the other bronzerider during the last half of his song.

"Will do." She smiled and moved to sit down, pouring him a glass before she poured her own. "I do hope there will be some left for Fannith's hatching feast."

*I got grounded for a day* Seeing that it seemed as if her turn as a Harper had ended for the evening, or at least for the hour, Neou retreated silently, gitar upon her back. She could never stand these situations for long, always fleeing at the last moment. There were far too many painful memories brought up in moments such as these, far too many indeed. Fleeing silently, she made her way throughout the crowded room, pushing past people if she must, Shakespeare and Titania clinging to her shoulder and arm and making small noises of fright. Finally Neou made her way out of the crowded Kitchens, breathing in the fresh air, eager to escape. How could she be a successfull Harper if she let so many painful memories intrude on her always? Well, I suppose I will not, and I shall be content with that. I shall have to be, will I not? Fare thee well, feast. You shall not hear any more from me tonight.
