Name: Amjia
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Position: Candidate
Dragon's Color/Prefrence: Prefers Gold, but just Impressing would be a blessing ^_^
Dragon's Name/Prefrence: Preference? Opalith! Yesh!
Character's Looks: Amjia’s chestnut tresses fall past her shoulders. She usually keeps them pulled into a braid at the nape of her neck so her vision is not obstructed. She stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and her body is willowy and fit. Her feet are rather large, and when she has a chance, Amjia prefers to keep them bare. She wears poorly made garments - the best her father could afford on the little makes fishing. Her eyes are emerald green, flecked with brown and they move slowly - not because Amjia is lazy, more because she likes to take in the little details of her surroundings. When Amjia smiles, her lips part, showing her slightly crooked teeth - another sing of her less-than-luxurious upbringing. Her arms are strong from her toil around the Hold. She could be described as “attractive,” or “pretty,” but being no spoiled Lord Holder’s daughter, she certainly isn’t “ravishing.”
Character's Personality: Amjia is fascinated and enraptured by everything that was previously unexplored. A small coastal hold where nothing ever changes and life revolves around fish had been smothering her. She is spirited, intrepid and incredibly talkative. She holds pride in what she believes in and would fight for her beliefs. It is hard to make her lose her temper, but when it has vanished she becomes completely irritable and it is hard to subdue her. Still, Amjia is caring and kind, and when necessary, her touch is tender. She can relate to all people, be they the MasterHarper or just a minuscule apprentice. While others carry on with their work in a boring manner, always looking down at the ground, Amjia looks up, towards the sky and the legendary Dragonriders that she exalts and aspires to join in the skies.
Oh yes, and how could I forget? She makes excellent klah ^_^
OCharacter's History: Amjia was born to a fisherman in a small coastal hold. She was the 3rd in her family, and the last save her fraternal twin sister, Bellia. As a young child, Amjia was shy, polite and very timid. That is, she was, until tragedy hit her like a storm hits a boat at sea. Bellia, Amjia’s favorite sibling, grew sick and pale. The young girl was unable to fight it and perished within days. Stricken with grief, Amjia did not leave her room for days. When she finally crawled out of her hole, she was a different person. She carried on as usual, except she craved to become someone, and to do everything her lost sister never got the chance to. She carried in her heart the hope of Impressing and becoming a Dragonrider.
Amjia didn’t have a particularly unhappy childhood other than that one incident, as so many people boast about their lives, looking for sympathy. Her parents treated her well, and gave her freedom to wander - which was a real gift to her as she loved to roam. But she had always felt rather... special. Perhaps it was the way they had to feed her chores because she always finished too fast, or how she always walked with more purpose in each step - everyone always expected great things from Amjia. So it was no surprise when she was Searched. The surprise was that any Dragonrider would drop by such a small hold to Search. Some said it was destiny.
RP Sample: Amjia waited in her house, while outside there was a throng of people, and raucous cries could be heard from the few hold children lining up to be Searched. Amjia, however, waited behind, knowing that patience is a virtue. Her heart pounded in her head, and when she stepped out in her bare feet, her orbs were immediately drawn to the large beast and proud form of a Search Rider, gazing expectantly at the young men and women of the hold. His face grew solemn before long, not seeing any possible candidates. The general feeling grew from excited and jumpy to grave and forlorn, and children were returning shame-faced to their parents, embarrassed that they finally had to admit that there was nothing unique or unusual about them. But then the great Bronze snorted and threw his head up with an agitated grunt towards Amjia. She froze in her place, never breaking eye contact with the dragon.
“You there, what is your name?” The Search Rider did not ask in a way that it was a question - more that it was a demand.
Amjia didn’t answer. What /was/ her name, anyways? Oh yeah... “Amjia.”
“Ladies and Gentlemen of the Rotil Hold, may I introduce to you the next dragonrider, Amjia!” Everyone was stunned for a second. Amjia’s mother had crystal tears welling in her eyes, just starting to drop out. Then her father started to clap. Suddenly everyone in the hold was going mad with applause, and Amjia hoisted her head higher then it had ever been carried before. Her mind was filled with rushing images of pride and hope. Hope that she would find her life-mate at Silver Cove Weyr.
(I know this isn't great. I threw this together kinda quickly. I'm a good RPer though, promise! Oh yes, and I was referred by S'mer/M'raz/T'rin ^_^. )
