((Okay, I don't know if weyrlings from Fannith's hatching share a barrack with weyrlings from Ikanyth's hatching. They probably do, correct me if I'm wrong please, so any female weyrling is welcome to post here. I think.)) It had taken Teryl and Raith far too long to find the barracks. Raith's exhaustion lay heavy on Teryl's mind, and the events of the day were beginning to catch up with her. She just wanted to sleep - she wouldn't even be bringing her possesions over here from the candidate barracks until tomorrow.
Teryl walked to the back of the barracks, choosing a bed in the shadowed corner of the room. "Here, this is a - "
She broke off, realizing the dragonet had not followed her. Raith was already curled up next to a bed right in the center of things, dreadfully exposed to anyone who entered the room. ~We shall sleep here~ she stated.
"But... we can't..."
~What is wrong? I want to be seen! Do I embaress you that much, that we have to hide in the back?~
"No, that's not.." Teryl was cut off again by a sudden feeling of amusement that surged along her bond to the dragonet. Raith didn't mean it. And Teryl didn't need to explain herself. The green already understood. Such was the nature of this bond: a dragon could never misinterpret her rider.
Teryl dropped onto the sleeping furs beside her beloved Raith, giving an impulsive hug the dragonet was too tired to squirm out of. Within seconds, Raith was asleep.
Not having had to push her way out of an eggshell today, Teryl wasn't quite so tired. She stayed awake for a while longer, wondering when the other weyrlings would arrive.
