I see....I rather dislike weyrs with patterned dragons...I mean, I can understand dragons with spots or splotches that occour natrually in animals...but not some of the more complex patterns....

I simply will not join a Weyr with dragons like that. My own violet, Herath, had a splotch of crimson upon each rear haunch, but that only occured in her, and was some genetic mix up.

yes. exactly. I could understand maybe lepord-patterened or you know, kind of a paint pattern of two colors placed randomly(like a horse)...but sometimes there are ridculous pattens!

actually...talker-birds might not be so unpernese at all...I stumbled on something while looking through a dragon lover's guide to Pern
"Two identifiable types of the "wherry" avians, both predatory, were cataloged, as were numerous brilliantly plumed smaller avians."
dragon lover's guide to pern.second edition. chapter II. page five.
I don't like the idea, but your point doesn't really count as valid anymore. it never goes into what those 'numerous brilliantly plumed smaller avians' were.

I saw that too, but that is NOTHING like hawks. Those are like parrots, I imagine. But wherries have six legs, no actual features, faceted eyes... etc.

you assume. it doesn't go into depth, so who can honestly say?

They only brought animals they viewed as essential to Perns, and hawks are not exactly that. Pretty enough, but they knew of wherries, so they would not bring hawks. And "forest animals did not survive on Pern"

point. but you are only assuming that none of those 'numerous brilliantly plumed smaller avians' are remotely hawk-shaped...it never went into detail as to what they looked like...still, it matters not. you are the one who accepts or declines creatures, and these creatures have been declined. I'm just saying that one of your eariler points was not completely valid....

Which I still imagine have six legs, which is the trend on Pern. They are either song birds, I imagine, or parrots.

I was totally in charge when she was gone, and I rejected them, so they remain rejected.
