They are not exactly made up, as they are mentioned in the White Dragon, I believe. That or Dragondrums. I cannot remember which... Must go find books. "It was far too small to be like the watch-whers that Piemur knew as nocturnal hold guardians in the north, but it was bigger then fire lizards, which it also somewhat resembled."- So, what do you think?

Cool, and they have the same ORGINAL colors as dragons. Shall get them in after the Hatching.

Whersports information:
Size: They are about the size of canines, as they are larger then firelizards yet smaller then whers. Impression: Much the same as a firelizards. You feed them until they are sated, and you will have a companion for life. Colors: Gold, bronze, brown, blue, green. None of the mutations. Abilities: Flight, though some choose to clip their wings as they would a wher's, and remove certain organs so that they do not have the urge to participate in Flight, nor go into Flight. They are active during both day and night, and are not light sensitive like whers.

Souns interesting. -signs up for inpression- I might not be here when it happens, so keep one for me when I come back on. I don't care what color, though I would prefer a blue.

I was waiting until I got "The Dragonlovers Guide to Pern" to see if they had any information, but they did not. So I combined what I knew about Whers and what I knew about fire lizards. Viola! Whersports. So, can I just role play finding a clutch now?

No. Fire lizards are actually rather stupid in comparison to dragons.

"though some choose to clip their wings as they would a wher's"
No. Nonono. Whers were born with stubby wings, as proved in DragonsDawn. They are genetically tampered-with firelizards, a second attempt at dragons made by Wind Blossom, whereas dragons were made by her grandmother, Kit Ping. They are NOT clipped. They also aren't blind. Photophobic is adequate, but the way it's described in Dragon's Kin, they're heat-sensititive, and therefore much heat (ie: Rukbat) makes their eyes hurt and temporarily blinds them.
And yes, I am a perfectionist, and yes, I adore whers. I am, after all, a Supporter and Advocate in the Society for the Promotion and Protection of Whers.
Other than that, sign me up for a clutch ^^. I'm assuming they're more like flits, in that you can have one of them as well as a dragon, since you didn't say otherwise?

Yes, their wings are clipped. It mentions the watch-wher of Ruatha Hold having its wings clipped in Dragonflight. And I know that watch-whers are heat sensitive, but not many would know that, would they? Most think them light sensitive, so I put it as that.
